We had hoped to be raising a glass with you in person this summer, celebrating the Land Trust’s 30th anniversary – but the best laid plans can’t stand up to a global pandemic. In spite of these challenging times, however, our work isn’t missing a beat.

Even though we can’t come together to celebrate conservation in our corner of the Sierra, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating in your own way – whether it’s looking back on the project that got you involved in the Land Trust, or taking a hike on your favorite Land Trust trail.

However you choose to celebrate, we hope you’ll consider a donation on our 30th anniversary to ensure the next 30 years of conservation work will continue. And thanks to TruSource Consulting Group and anonymous donors, your gift today will be matched up to $15,000 in support of the Land Trust’s work.

Some of you have been supporters of the Land Trust since our early days:

“I have witnessed a lot of changes in my 32 years of living in Truckee, and the amazing amount of preserved open space created by the Land Trust over those years has been a highlight of these three decades. I think that, dollar for dollar, the Truckee Donner Land Trust is the most effective nonprofit organization I have ever seen.” – Jeff Schloss.

Others of you became involved when a particular project got your attention:

“My husband and I have been supporters of the Truckee Donner Land Trust for many years because its mission and the work is very real and tangible. However, what is most important to us is that the land is not fenced in and locked up. We believe that the more people who are welcome to spend time on these beautiful properties, the more they will support ongoing efforts for acquisitions and proper stewardship!” – Julie Thornton and Craig Falk.

And we’re thrilled to see new conservationists step up to ensure open space is protected for generations to come:

“I support the Land Trust because they help save animals’ homes and they make places for us to bike and hike,” said Leif K, age six, while her sister Shai, age eight, said: “I support the Land Trust because they protect land where birds and forest animals live.”

“I love being outdoors and exploring with my family!  I love how TDLT can help me find a new trail to walk, a calm lake to kayak, or a quiet place to read my books. And it’s really important to me that I do what I can to preserve and protect the trails of Truckee so that we can all enjoy them, now and in the future.”  – Sydney H.  Age 10.

We hope you’ll add your generous gift, doubled today by TruSource Consulting Group and anonymous donors, to the hard-earned chore money these incredible young people have contributed, standing side-by-side with the next generation that will carry the torch for our special corner of the Sierra Nevada.
