We thank you for ensuring these special places are available to all.

When you include the Land Trust in your will or estate plans, you leave a legacy for future generations, ensuring they will be able to enjoy the lands we cherish today. A planned gift — depending on your situation — may reduce your income taxes, reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes, reduce your gift or estate tax, provide income to you and your loved ones, and help support the Land Trust’s efforts to protect our mountain home.

Most importantly, your bequest will ensure that the Truckee Donner Land Trust has the strength and flexibility to meet future challenges.

Sample Language and Tax ID

Leaving a bequest is simple and gives you the opportunity to make a significant difference. To make a bequest, consult with your tax or legal advisor, and please contact Kate Frankfurt at the Land Trust office.

Sample Bequest Language: 
I give and bequeath ____________ (amount, percent of estate or description of property) to the Truckee Donner Land Trust for its general purposes and use at the discretion of its Board of Directors.
