Pole Creek
The Truckee Donner Land Trust is working to conserve the last 61 acres of private property in Pole Creek, preserving the entire 2,000-acre Pole Creek Watershed. Located between the Sierra Crest and the Truckee River north of Olympic Valley, this property is important both for conservation and recreation. The land includes the headwaters of Pole Creek, a tributary to the Truckee River and habitat for Lahontan cutthroat trout. The area is also popular for recreation, including backcountry skiing to one of the Sierra Club’s backcountry huts.
Wildflowers are abundant at Pole Creek in the early summer months.
