Pole Creek Protected!

On behalf of the Board and Staff of the Truckee Donner Land Trust, we are excited to announce that the Pole Creek property is officially conserved!

Starting back in 2023, the Truckee Donner Land Trust set out to protect the last private parcel in Pole Creek – 61 acres that ensure the preservation of the entire 2,000-acre Pole Creek watershed. Located just north of Olympic Valley, Pole Creek links the Sierra Crest above to the Truckee River below.

The land includes beautiful, flower-filled subalpine meadows, mixed conifer forest, and the headwaters of Pole Creek – habitat for Lahontan cutthroat trout. It's also a wonderful year-round recreation destination, with the newly conserved property steps away from the Sierra Club's Bradley Hut.

This project would not have happened without the support of donors like you, and a generous grant from the Martis Fund. Thanks to you, Pole Creek will remain intact, preserving a watershed running from the Sierra Crest to the Truckee River. Healthy forests will continue to thrive, meadows will fill with wildflowers every year, and you and I will be able to enjoy its beauty, unfettered by no trespassing signs.
