Truckee Donner Land Trust is determined to protect another 24,500 acres in the coming years with a value of over $40 million.

Donner Lake Rim Trail

When complete, the Donner Lake Rim Trail will be a more than 23-mile-long trail along the peaks and ridges above Donner Lake. A new 4-mile stretch was finished in 2019 connecting existing trail near Glacier Way down to Northwoods Boulevard, Next, Truckee Donner Land Trust plans to construct the southern portion, reaching from Coldstream Canyon to Royal Gorge on Donner Summit. Read more.

 

Pines to Mines Trail

The Pines to Mines Trail is a joint effort of the Truckee Donner Land Trust, Truckee Trails Foundation, Bicyclists of Nevada County, Bear Yuba Land Trust, Tahoe National Forest, Nevada County, the Trust for Public Land, Gold County Trails Council, and Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation to build roughly 22 miles of new trail, linking existing trails to add up to 75 to 85 miles of trail connecting Nevada City to Truckee. Jackass Ridge

The Land Trust’s Jackass Ridge Acquisition Campaign is comprised of two parcels, offering a unique opportunity to permanently protect beloved open space important to conservation, viewshed, and recreation in the Truckee Donner Region. The combined parcels are roughly 117 acres on Jackass Ridge, located above Highway 89 just south of Truckee. Learn how you can help today.

Canyon Springs

The Truckee Donner Land Trust is partnering with Mountain Area Preservation, SOS Glenshire and the Martis Fund to protect 290 acres of open space in eastern Truckee, protecting habitat, wildlife corridors and opening up new access and recreation opportunities for the region. Truckee Springs
